About

Nunga Produce is committed to Aboriginal growers to become self sustaining enterprises. We are a unique business that encourages private Aboriginal farmers to embark on producing on their own land for their own financial benefit for commercial market. Nunga Produce then markets the collective product of the growers under the Matjarra branding. Hence we depend on these growers to become commercially viable growers in order to maintain this unique marketing banner.

This concept of Aboriginal sustainability requires a lot of input, support and hands on expertise. Many of these farmers have very little experience in horticulture and our business focuses on creating employment opportunities as well business opportunities for these growers. Hence we invest large efforts into business development within the Aboriginal community.

Nunga Produce is proud of what opportunities we create and of the product we produce.

What makes our enterprise unique

As a food product, MATJARRA is required to be of consumer standards and quality. Without such product we have no business. As a business, we not only focus to provide quality product and customer service, but it is equally important to maintain close connections and rapport with growers. We are committed to securing exclusivity and a leading edge in marketing of our brand name.

MATJARRA claims to be Leading Sustainability for Aboriginal people, and to make this statement requires us to support the primary producers to meet our requirements and fulfil our needs. We are committed to making these farms successful, for our suppliers as well as for ourselves because ultimately, we need to be competitive on the commercial market with quality and consistency in supply.

Our Growers

Nunga Produce is a business that encourages private Aboriginal farmers to embark on producing on their own land for their own financial benefit for commercial market. Nunga Produce will then market the collective product on behalf of the growers under the MATJARRA branding.

Aboriginal people are natural born farmers and the connection to the Land opens endless opportunities for individuals which can then be extended. The affiliation and respect for the land is the benefit and advantage these farmers have which is essential in order to have success in this challenging industry.

Hence, by supporting MATJARRA you are supporting an Aboriginal enterprise, Aboriginal employment and the future support of Aboriginal employment and enterprising. The farms which we are currently supporting are in the following regions:

  • Port Victoria
  • Ceduna
  • Port Lincoln

Nunga Produce is constantly seeking other micro farms to partner with us in this venture.

Our goal, under the MATJARRA banner, is to empower Aboriginals to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. As an actively operating Aboriginal business we intend on leading this Path.
